International Context

WSL creates opportunities for film/dance artists to make and show dance, and/or film work within Laboratory and stage settings. The organisation has a passionate commitment to bring international artists of calibre to Wicklow, and to encourage the development of local arts communities. While it is a local festival it is open country-wide and internationally to contributors; and, with new parter Dance Ireland, will have a specific relationship with a national audience.

Renowned experts in Screendance Marisa Hayes and Franck Boulègue of Festival International de Videodanse de Bourgogne (France), and Blas Payri of International Meeting on Videodance, Valencia (Spain), along with Jean Baptiste Ferreira and Rafael Molina of Graham for Europe; artists Lorenza di Calogera, Anna Rose and others make up the growing team of International Associate Artists connected with Wicklow ScreenDance Laboratory. Moreover, WSL has a relationship with La Briqueterie CDC (Paris) which has a screendance output.

Here is a video diary Franck Boulègue shot during his stay in Valencia for the International Screendance Meeting organised by Blas Payri, filmed by Franck Boulègue
